Scope of machine refurbishment & CNC retrofit work

A partial machine refurbishment & CNC retrofit of a Schiess 40DZ CNC Vertical Borer.

The contract placed on EES included re-alignment of the crossrail slides, refurbishment of both toolchangers, full refurbishment of the hydrostatic & hydraulic systems, strip & refurbishment of the live spindle drive gearbox and refurbishment of the table Jaw blocks.

The CNC retrofit comprised fitting of a new Siemens 840D Control, refurbishment of both the table & live spindle drive motors, new Digital Axis Servo Drives, a new electrical cabinet complete with all new control gear and a complete machine re-wire.

A complex machine on which the C Axis & Live Spindle had not worked for many years; EES provided a comprehensive upgrade, ahead of schedule, with all machine functions now fully operable.
